Battery energy storage system: batteries plus the power electronics, management software and safety systems that store electricity and release it when needed.

kW is power: how fast energy flows, like the size of a tap. kWh is energy: how much is stored, like the size of a tank. Duration is kWh ÷ kW.

LFP (lithium iron phosphate) is the most thermally stable of the common lithium-ion chemistries and the default for stationary storage. Safety still comes from the whole design: monitoring, detection, suppression, ventilation and separation.

A design that stays safe, or shuts down safely, even after two independent faults. The CEA's 2026 BESS safety chapter requires it against overcharge, over-discharge, short circuit and temperature excursions.

Of the energy you put into a battery, the share you get back out. Quote it AC to AC, including cooling and auxiliaries, to compare fairly.

The state authority that approves electrical installations before they're switched on. In Tamil Nadu, approval rests with the Electrical Inspector, Senior Electrical Inspector or Chief Electrical Inspector to Government, depending on capacity.

The Open Charge Point Protocol, the open language between chargers and the software that manages them. It enables remote monitoring, resets and firmware updates.
