How we handle the information you send us.

1. About this policy

This policy explains what information CHE Energy Pvt Ltd collects through this website (www.che-energy.in) and through enquiries you send us by form, email, phone or WhatsApp, how we use it, who else handles it, and the choices you have.

It is written to match what the site does today. We collect only what we need to reply to you and to assess your site.

2. Who we are

CHE Energy Pvt Ltd ("CHE Energy", "we", "us") is an energy technology consultancy based at CHE House, Christhunagar Main Road, Nagercoil 629003, Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu. For the personal data described here, we decide why and how it is processed. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, that makes us the data fiduciary.

3. Information you give us

When you fill in our enquiry form, or email, call or message us, you may give us:

  • Contact details: your name, organisation, role, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, and district and state.
  • Site and project details: the type of site, your contract demand or sanctioned load, any existing solar or gensets, your timeline and what you need help with.
  • Files: electricity bills, meter data, single-line diagrams, site photos and quotes you want reviewed.
  • Messages: what you write to us in the form, by email or on WhatsApp, and our notes of calls with you.
  • Job applications: if you apply for a role, your CV and the details you send with it.

Please don't send sensitive personal information we haven't asked for, such as identity numbers or health details.

4. Information collected automatically

This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not build visitor profiles.

Like any website, our hosting provider receives technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. It is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix faults.

The site stores two small settings in your browser's local storage: your language choice (English or Tamil, and whether you have already seen the language prompt) and whether you paused the animations. They stay on your device, are not sent to us, and you can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

The enquiry form is provided by Tally. So that the "Talk to an engineer" buttons can open it on any page, Tally's form script loads from Tally's servers on every page of this site. Tally may use its own cookies or similar technology inside the form; see Tally's privacy policy (opens in a new tab).

5. Our enquiry form

Enquiries submitted through our contact form are processed by Tally (tally.so) on our behalf. Tally stores your answers and any files you upload, and makes them available to us so that we can reply.

6. WhatsApp

If you message us on WhatsApp, your messages are also handled under WhatsApp's own terms. WhatsApp is a separate service with its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab).

7. Files you send us

Electricity bills, meter data and site information you share are used only to assess and respond to your enquiry and are not shared outside CHE Energy without your consent, except with engineers or partners working on your project under confidentiality.

8. How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

  • reply to your enquiry and talk through your site with you;
  • assess your site, for example load and tariff analysis, sizing and feasibility;
  • prepare the proposals, reviews and reports you ask for;
  • carry out and support a project if you engage us;
  • consider job applications;
  • keep the records the law requires, such as tax and contract records; and
  • keep this website working and secure.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.

9. Consent and your choices

We process the personal data you give us with your consent, or because you sent it to us voluntarily for a specific purpose, such as asking for a proposal; we then use it for that purpose. We also process data where the law requires us to.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing info@che-energy.in. We will then stop using your data for that purpose, unless the law requires us to keep it. Withdrawing consent does not affect what we did before, and we may not be able to continue an enquiry without the information.

10. Who we share it with

We share personal data only when we need to, and only with:

  • Tally, which runs our enquiry form;
  • Vercel, which hosts this website;
  • the email, telephone and messaging services we use to talk to you, including WhatsApp if you choose it;
  • engineers and partners working on your project, under confidentiality; and
  • government authorities, regulators or courts, where the law requires it.

Service providers may use the data only to provide their service to us.

11. Where your data is processed

Some of these service providers store or process data outside India, for example on servers in Europe or the United States. We use them only as Indian law permits.

12. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information for as long as we need it to respond to you and follow up. If a project goes ahead, we keep project records for the length of the project and for any further period the law or the contract requires.

When we no longer need the information, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you. You can ask us at any time to remove a job application we hold on file.

13. Keeping it safe

We take reasonable security measures to protect personal data, and we limit access to the people who need it. No way of sending or storing data over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If a breach affects your personal data, we will inform you and the authorities as the law requires.

14. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the rules made under it, you can ask us to:

  • give you a summary of the personal data we hold about you, how we use it and who we have shared it with;
  • correct, complete or update your data;
  • erase data we no longer need, unless the law requires us to keep it;
  • stop processing that is based on your consent; and
  • address a grievance about how we handle your data.

You can also nominate another person to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to do so.

To make a request, email info@che-energy.in with "Privacy" in the subject line. We may need to confirm your identity before we act. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

15. Children

This website is meant for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us their data, contact us and we will delete it.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
