How we work

How a project runs, stage by stage

Six stages, each ending in a named document. Whether we're your consultant, contractor, integrator, facilitator or operations and maintenance (O&M) partner, the process is the same; only our share of it changes.

Six stages

Each stage ends in a document

Every stage has activities, a deliverable you can hold us to, and a part only you can play.

  1. 01. Assess

    Site & data review

    What happens

    • Site walk: single-line diagram (SLD), transformer, contract demand, space, access, flood and soil, fire-service access
    • Load and tariff analysis from 12 months of bills and 15-minute data
    • Genset logs, solar profile, outage history and EV plans
    • Sizing options and value calculation with assumptions shown

    Deliverable

Site assessment and load & tariff report; feasibility with sizing options

    Your part

Share data, give access, tell us what matters most: cost, resilience or both.

    Our role at this stage

  2. 02. Design

    Design basis & safety layout

    What happens

    • Use cases and control philosophy
    • Sizing: kW, kWh, C-rate, depth of discharge, degradation and augmentation
    • AC or DC coupling, protection, earthing, cooling
    • Fire and explosion design from the OEM's UL 9540A data; layout and civil works
    • Communications and cybersecurity
    • Vendor-neutral specification and selection; approvals plan

    Deliverable

Design basis report, SLD, safety layout, specification and bid evaluation

    Your part

Review and approve the design basis and layout.

  3. 03. Build

    Installed system & records

    What happens

    • Procurement and factory acceptance testing
    • Civil and electrical works
    • Installation with torque logs; coolant fill and leak tests
    • Fire systems and communications
    • Inspection and test plans with hold points; safety plan and permits to work

    Deliverable

Installation and inspection records; as-built drawings

    Your part

Site access, a named contact, and permits within your premises.

  4. 04. Commission

    Tested, inspected, handed over

    What happens

    • Pre-commissioning checks
    • Functional and safety tests: alarms, trips, emergency stops, fire interlocks
    • Energy management system (EMS) mode tests
    • Available-energy and round-trip-efficiency tests to IEC 62933-2-1
    • Electrical Inspectorate inspection; from 1 April 2027, the third-party fire-safety audit report for battery energy storage systems (BESS) above 650 V
    • Training and handover

    Deliverable

    Commissioning report and handover dossier

    Your part

Witness the tests, and nominate staff for training.

  5. 05. Operate & maintain

    Monitored and maintained

    What happens

    • Remote monitoring and alarm response
    • Preventive and corrective maintenance
    • Annual capacity and efficiency tests
    • State-of-health tracking against warranty; augmentation planning
    • Firmware under change control; spares; compliance records

    Deliverable

Monthly performance report; annual test report

    Your part

Keep us informed of site changes; review the monthly report.

    Our role at this stage

    What O&M covers
  6. 06. Repurpose & recycle

    Second life or recycling

    What happens

    • State-of-health testing
    • Augmentation or repowering decisions
    • Safe discharge, isolation and dismantling
    • Transport as dangerous goods
    • Second life or recycling through registered partners; extended producer responsibility (EPR) paperwork

    Deliverable

End-of-life plan (written at contract, updated at decommissioning)

    Your part

Agree the plan up front, so there are no surprises in year 12.

    Our role at this stage

Before we start

What to have ready

A phone call is enough to start. These make the first conversation far more useful.

Talk to us
  • Last 12 months of electricity bills
  • 15-minute interval data from your meter, if available
  • Contract demand and sanctioned load
  • Single-line diagram of your electrical network
  • Gensets: rating, age, running hours and fuel records
  • Solar: capacity, inverter make, metering or open-access details
  • Outage history, even rough notes
  • List of critical loads
  • Site photos and a plot plan
  • EV plans: vehicle types, numbers and how long they park
  • Planned expansions
  • Any quotes you already have

Safety & quality

How we keep the work safe and right

On site

  • Lock-out/tag-out and permits to work
  • PPE and tools rated for DC work
  • Battery handling procedures
  • Arc-flash awareness
  • Hot-work and lifting plans
  • Emergency response briefing on day one

In the paperwork

  • Inspection and test plans with hold points
  • Torque logs and photo records for every termination
  • Nonconformance tracking
  • Document control
  • Lessons fed back into the next design

Every project gets written inspection and test plans with hold points, and we design small systems to the same layered safety approach the CEA requires of larger ones.

Electrical installation work is carried out and certified by appropriately licensed contractors and supervisors, as Tamil Nadu rules require.

Handover

Handed over with the know-how

A system is only as safe as the people who run it after we leave.

  • Operator training

Normal operation, alarms and what to do about each, safe isolation and emergency stops, with a signed training record.

  • Fire-service familiarisation

A site visit for the local fire station: layout, isolation points, suppression and the emergency response plan.

  • Handover dossier

As-built drawings, test and commissioning reports, certificates, manuals, warranties and the approvals file.

  • Spares and contacts

The recommended spares list, escalation contacts and the maker warranty process.

The dossier, the training record and a visit for the fire service. Schematic, not to scale.

Questions about our process

It depends on size, equipment lead times and approvals. We give you a schedule at the design stage, with approvals shown separately because authorities set their own timelines.

Specialist civil or fire-system work may be subcontracted under our supervision. We name subcontractors to you in advance, and our quality and safety plans apply to them.

You do. We make raw data access a requirement in equipment specifications and share it with you.

Yes. Some owners want a study, others want installation or O&M only. The role is agreed in writing at the start.

Start with a conversation

Tell us where your project stands today

A study, a design review, a build or a system that needs looking after: we'll tell you which stage to start from and what to have ready.
