Energy technology, end to end

CHE Energy is an energy technology company based in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu. We advise on which technologies are worth investing in, engineer and maintain battery energy storage systems (BESS) that keep sites running, and build and operate EV charging for vehicles and fleets. Each is a service in its own right. Together, they carry a project from the first study to years of dependable operation.

Pioneers in battery storage and EV charging

We design, integrate, install and maintain battery energy storage systems (BESS) and EV charging infrastructure, and we connect storage to the solar, grid, generators, switchgear and chargers around it.

What we do

Four specialisms, one joined-up team

Energy projects often go wrong at the joins between advice, equipment and upkeep. We cover all of them, so your system is planned, built and looked after by people who understand the whole.

Energy technology consulting

Independent advice before you spend: load, tariff and power-quality studies, technology selection, specifications, bid evaluation, technical due diligence and approvals planning.

Assess → Model → Specify → Decide

  • Load, tariff and diesel generator (DG) log analysis
  • Vendor-neutral specifications and bid evaluation
  • Owner's engineer through delivery

Battery energy storage (BESS)

Storage sized to the jobs your site needs done: peak shaving, time-of-day shifting, solar shifting, backup and DG hybrid operation.

Size → Engineer → Commission → Maintain

  • Outdoor cabinets to multi-MWh containers
  • LFP chemistry and layered safety design
  • Designed to the CEA 2026 BESS regulations

System integration

One system, not a pile of equipment. We make batteries, inverters, solar, DG sets, chargers, meters and software work together, and take responsibility for the interfaces between them.

Interface → Integrate → Test → Hand over

  • Protection, switchgear, controls and communications
  • Solar, DG, charger and grid interfaces
  • Factory and site acceptance testing

EV charging

We design, build and install charging for hosts and fleets, then operate and maintain it, adding storage where the grid connection is the constraint.

Survey → Connect → Install → Maintain

  • AC and DC charging for 2W, 3W, cars and buses
  • Battery-buffered fast charging
  • O&M with remote monitoring over OCPP

How we engage

One partner, the role you need

Some owners want independent advice. Others want one contractor who hands over a working system. We say up front which role we're playing, what we're responsible for, and what we're not.

  • Independent studies, specifications and owner's-engineer support.

    Deliverable: Feasibility report

  • We engineer, procure and construct the whole system and hand it over commissioned.

Deliverable: Commissioned system & handover dossier

  • You or your supplier provides the equipment; we install, test and commission it.

    Deliverable: Installation & test records

  • Equipment from different makers, working as one system.

Deliverable: Integration & interface test report

  • Approvals, liaison and coordination between you and a working, approved system.

    Deliverable: Approvals file

  • Preventive and corrective maintenance, monitoring and annual testing.

    Deliverable: Monthly performance report

How to choose the right role

How it connects

What a battery connects to

A battery energy storage system is rarely a stand-alone purchase. It changes how your solar, grid connection, DG sets and chargers behave, so we design them together.

At the centre is the battery system itself. Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells sit in modules and racks, with a battery management system (BMS) watching every cell. A power conversion system (PCS) turns DC into AC and back, and an energy management system (EMS) decides when to charge and discharge.

  1. Solar & wind

    HYBRID PCS · TIME-SHIFT

Store midday solar and use it after sunset instead of exporting or curtailing it. Existing rooftop and ground-mount plants can be retrofitted, and repowered wind sites can add storage.

  2. Grid & DISCOM

    PEAK SHAVING · TOD TARIFFS

Stay inside contract demand and move consumption out of time-of-day peak windows, with connection approvals handled as part of the job.

  3. Generator sets

    HYBRID CONTROL · FEWER STARTS

With the changeover designed for it, the battery covers short outages and light loads, so the diesel or gas genset starts less often and runs at healthier loading when it does.

  4. EV charging

    DC FAST · 2W/3W · FLEET AC

A battery buffers charger demand so fast chargers can share a smaller connection. We also build, install and maintain the chargers.

  5. Site loads

    CRITICAL BACKUP · POWER QUALITY

Where the system is designed and approved to island, keep process lines, cold rooms, wards and server rooms running through interruptions and voltage dips.

  6. Monitoring & EMS

    ENERGY 107 · SOC · ALARMS

Energy 107, our monitoring and energy-management layer, tracks charge, temperature and alarms, runs the dispatch schedule, alerts our O&M team and produces the reports for M&V and ESG.

The evidence

Most failures start outside the cell

The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) studied grid-scale battery failures worldwide. Integration, assembly and construction was the most common root cause, and most failures with a known system age happened early in a system's life.

72% of failures with a known system age happened during construction, commissioning or the first two years of operation.

What we do about it

  1. Engineer the interfaces. DC and AC protection, cooling, fire systems and controls are designed and checked as one system, not as separate packages.

  2. Test everything before handover. Every alarm, trip, emergency stop and fire-system interlock is function-tested, and capacity and efficiency are measured, before handover.

  3. Watch the early years. Closer monitoring and inspection in the first two years, when problems most often surface.
